Échappées

I have placed the pictures directly on the ground in an attempt to disturb —in a split second — the routine experience of potential spectators. Using the boundaries of the sidewalk tiles as readymade guidelines, I try to create an optical illusion that brings the surrounding environment into play. The trompe-l’œil works like a mirror, capturing the details around it, which by force of habit are so often overlooked. It is a feint, a subversion, capable of loosening the glance from the workaday rhythms of everyday life.
